DANCE WITH LINES

In this series, I tried to find visual healing for individuals who have been affected by war, violence, and other brutal actions. Traditional Iranian paintings influenced me to create dynamic yet subtle and delicate curvilinear lines. I was trying to find a visual language to create a healing meditation for these victims' hidden wounds that have darkened their life and soul. I intended to convey happiness for a few seconds and make an escapism path from all that distress. I am still researching and struggling to find a solid way to achieve these visual healing effects. Because I believe that Art has a strong power to bring positive changes to humanity. I am furthering this aspect of my work by researching this healing aspect more through the work of Emma Kunz.

This series covers the second part of my CURCS grant. They were exhibited in the ID Weeks library and were presented in IdeaFet 2016. A few of these pieces are in the permanent collection of the Heartland Humane Society.
